May 07 09 - Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Jazzfest

On Sunday May 3 we headed out to the fairgrounds where The Neville Brothers closed out the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival's 40th anniversary after a rocking Neil Young set. The Brothers played the classics including funk mash up 'Iko Iko/Brother John Is Gone/Jambalaya.' We had a few guests including Trombone Shorty and his brother James Andrews joined The Brothers on stage for a few songs as well as Aaron's sons, Ivan Neville on 'Tipitina's' and Jason Neville who sang 'Ain't No Use' making the show a New Orleans family affair. As the sun set and more rain threatening to roll in on the fest The Brother's closed out the set with 'Amazing Grace.' The fairgrounds rounded up and people headed either home or out for more music before the music whirlwind came to an end.
